Analysis of Genetic Variability Amongst Polyploid Genotypes of Pteris vittata L. From Various Geographic Locales of India

Pteris vittata L. is very common and a widely distributed species belongs to the family Pteridaceae. Various cytotypes from diploid octaploid available in this fern species. The present work has been carried out for genetic diversity both within between cytotypes. molecular analysis at inter- as well intra-species with 57 accessions of P. other Microsorium punctatum considered an group taxon. For study 48 (36 tetraploid 12 pentaploid) five (four cretica , one pellucida tremula quadriaurita two ensiformis ) were used. UPGMA (unweighted pair method arithmetic mean) dendrograms generated each separately, all methods cumulatively, after 1000 replicate bootstrap analysis. In order determine utility method, comparative statistical assessment was done marker index (MI), expected average heterozygosity, fraction polymorphic loci effective multiplex ratio (EMR) calculated case used study. At level individual highest MI obtained directed amplification minisatellites DNA (DAMD) method. Our findings concluded that three Random Amplified Polymorphic (RAPD), Inter-Simple Sequence Repeat (ISSR), Directed Amplification Minisatellite (DAMD), DAMD best term polymorphism heterozygosity scores exhibited MI. different collected phytogeographical regions falls into six groups. Out clusters, cluster pentaploid cytotype, four clusters are cytotype outgroup taxon ( M. ). result thus showed tetraploid, variable genomic structure exists.
