Analysis of Genetic Variability Amongst Polyploid Genotypes of Pteris vittata L. From Various Geographic Locales of India

Pteris vittata L. is very common and a widely distributed species belongs to the family Pteridaceae. Various cytotypes from diploid octaploid available in this fern species. The present work has been carried out for genetic diversity both within between cytotypes. molecular analysis at inter- as well intra-species with 57 accessions of P. other Microsorium punctatum considered an group taxon. For study 48 (36 tetraploid 12 pentaploid) five (four cretica , one pellucida tremula quadriaurita two ensiformis ) were used. UPGMA (unweighted pair method arithmetic mean) dendrograms generated each separately, all methods cumulatively, after 1000 replicate bootstrap analysis.
